lead guitar
Music is art as art is surely music. An award winning musician, fine artist and proud member of the great Ho-Chunk Nation James is a veteran of many local cover and dance bands playing electric and acoustic guitar, bass, mandolin, percussion and singing lead/back-round vocals.
Playing lead guitar for over 40 years (he started very young!) influences include The Beatles, Motown, Zepplin, Hendrix, Leon Russell, the British Invasion, Johnny Winter, Clapton, Les Paul and the art of song writing.
A rock guitarist at heart, he’s had success writing and performing original world-beat music with the Detroit ensemble Zebula Avenue winning a Detroit Music Award for Outstanding World Album in 2008.
James is also a fine artist working mainly in oils. His style is a cross between surrealism and symbolism. For more information please check out www.jamesniemi.com.
Making art in many forms puts James on a continued quest for a varied and harmonious life experience. |
